The Dallas Cowboys are already making noise with the surprise addition of veteran pass rusher Von Miller. Now, a cryptic social media comment from Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby gave Cowboys fans another reason to wonder whether the team could have an even bigger defensive move coming.
Crosby appeared in the comments of a Cowboys-related Instagram post and congratulated Miller with three goat emojis: “🐐🐐🐐”. That might not mean anything by itself. But the timing is what has Cowboys fans talking after the addition of Miller.
Just hours after Dallas added Miller to an already revamped defensive front, Crosby’s comment immediately caught the attention of fans and players. The Cowboys’ official account also joined the conversation with a simple “let’s get it 😼,” while Dallas defensive players Donovan Ezeiruaku and Quinnen Williams reacted to the post as well.

Quinnen Williams wrote, “🤡 I get to work with the 🐐 GOAT,” while Ezeiruaku responded with a reaction GIF showing intense excitement. However, Crosby’s three-goat response has now fueled speculation about what might be happening behind the scenes with the Cowboys.
But why is Crosby’s comment making so much noise? Well, Von Miller has been doing the same. He gave more than enough hints about his Cowboys deal even before the news became official.
Likewise, Crosby making comments without any hesitation is a powerful sign. Though there is no clear evidence of what I’m assuming, other than his comments or social media presence.

To be clear, no trade about Crosby has been announced yet, and the comment alone does not establish that the Cowboys and Raiders are negotiating a deal. Still, given everything that has happened around Dallas’ defense, it is understandable why the comment has sent Cowboys fans into speculation mode.
Cowboys make surprise move for Von Miller
The Cowboys’ latest defensive addition came as something of a surprise. Dallas agreed to a one-year deal with veteran pass rusher Von Miller, giving the team another experienced edge defender as it prepares for the 2026 season.
Miller brings something the Cowboys’ young pass-rushing group cannot manufacture overnight: a résumé built through years of producing at the highest level.
The former first-round pick has been one of the defining pass rushers of his generation. He has played in some of the biggest games in NFL history and owns a Super Bowl MVP award from Denver’s victory in Super Bowl 50.
Miller also gives defensive coordinator Christian Parker another veteran option to work into the pass-rush rotation.
The Cowboys are already expecting a larger role from second-year edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku, who has generated considerable attention during training camp.
Adding Miller gives Dallas another player capable of providing pressure while potentially allowing the coaching staff to manage workloads across the defensive line and outside linebacker groups.
Why does Maxx Crosby’s comment have Cowboys fans talking?
Crosby is not some random player whose name can easily be connected to Dallas. The roots of this discussion or these rumors lie in Jerry Jones‘ training camp speech. During the opening ceremony of the Cowboys’ training camp, Jones hinted at a major trade he had been discussing with one NFL team, and that single remark is what set this entire speculation in motion.
The comment received more than 1,500 likes in the screenshot, while other reactions from Cowboys players and the team’s official account added to the attention surrounding the exchange.
Crosby’s comment was particularly interesting because it was not accompanied by an explanation. It could simply have been Crosby showing respect for another player or reacting to the Cowboys’ activity. It could mean absolutely nothing regarding a potential trade. But as Dallas unexpectedly landed Miller, fans were always going to look for clues about what the Cowboys might do next.
Dallas has spent the offseason attempting to build a more formidable defense around players such as Williams, Ezeiruaku, and the rest of its revamped front. Miller’s arrival already gave the Cowboys another proven pass-rushing presence.
If Crosby were somehow added to that group, the Cowboys’ defensive identity would change dramatically.
To conclude, though, Cowboys fans have a cryptic comment, an unexpected Von Miller signing and plenty of speculation. Nothing more is confirmed. But after Crosby dropped those three goat emojis, the Cowboys rumor mill is officially working overtime.
