The Dallas Cowboys are currently practicing at the 2026 training camp in Oxnard. After reporting on July 28, first of all, owner Jerry Jones addressed the team with a strong message about doing whatever to make this year’s team win. And on the first day of training on July 29, George Pickens turned heads.
Now, with the offense and defense hoping for the best performance in the 2026 NFL season, the star quarterback gave a new identity to the offensive unit of the team: “GOTI”. Yes. Offensive tackle Tyler Guyton offered a glimpse into the mindset of the Cowboys offense during training camp when he was asked to describe the unit’s identity heading into the 2026 season.
According to the young offensive tackle, the offense wants to be “fast, physical, violent, imposing our will on opponents.” But Guyton then revealed that quarterback Prescott has introduced a new team slogan to reinforce that standard. “Dak has a new saying: GOTI (Greatest Offense There Is), that’s the standard for us,” Guyton said.
With Prescott leading the group alongside playmakers such as CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, Dallas is aiming to establish itself as one of the NFL’s most explosive and physical offenses.
How good is the Cowboys offense?
The Cowboys’ offense in 2025 was a statistical juggernaut that absolutely lit up the scoreboard and moved the ball at will. Even though the team’s final record didn’t reflect it, this unit was one of the most explosive and productive groups in the entire NFL under Brian Schottenheimer.
Let’s start with the big picture. The Cowboys piled up a tough 6,663 total yards on the season. That is the second most in the entire league, trailing only the Los Angeles Rams, who had 6,709 yards. On a per-game basis, they were putting up a staggering 391.9 yards per game. They were also tied for second in the league in total touchdowns with 51. To put that in perspective, only the Rams had more total touchdowns with 65.
On the other hand, the passing game was absolutely unstoppable. The Cowboys had the second-best passing attack in the NFL. They threw for a massive 4,527 yards through the air, averaging 266.3 passing yards per game. Prescott was the engine driving this machine. He threw for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns with only 10 interceptions, good for a stellar passer rating of 99.5. He was a fourth-time Pro Bowler and the undisputed leader of this high-octane offense.
The ground game was no slouch either. While they were known for their passing prowess, the Cowboys also had a very solid running attack. They ranked ninth in the NFL in rushing, churning out 2,136 total rushing yards and averaging 125.6 yards per game on the ground.
All this yardage translated into a lot of points. The Cowboys were seventh in the league in scoring, putting up 471 total points for an average of 27.7 points per game. And for a stretch in the middle of the season, they were even scoring the second most points per game in the league. The offense was in almost every game because of their offense.
Now, it wasn’t all perfect. The one area where they weren’t elite was in the red zone. They converted red zone opportunities into touchdowns at a rate of just 56.9%, which ranked them 18th in the league. There was definitely room for improvement when they got inside the 20-yard line.
The biggest issue for the Cowboys in 2025 wasn’t the offense. It was the defense. They gave up a whopping 511 points, which was the worst in the entire NFL, averaging 30.1 points against per game. It’s hard to win games when you’re giving up more points than you’re scoring, even with an offense as good as this one.
In short, the Cowboys’ offense in 2025 was a powerhouse. They were top two in total yards, top two in passing, top ten in rushing, and top ten in scoring. It was a unit that could beat you through the air or on the ground and was one of the most entertaining and productive groups in the league.
If the defense had been even average, this offense would have been the centerpiece of a deep playoff run. To give you some hope, there is also a high possibility that the Cowboys defense, led by new DC Christian Parker, might be in the middle of the power rankings list
