Coming off a monster 2025 season where he hauled in 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, the man is playing on a $27.3 million franchise tag this year. And if Schottenheimer’s comments are any indication, that contract year fire is very much real.
“He was as dialed in in meetings as I’ve seen him since he’s been here, just following along, asking questions,” Schottenheimer said. “I think you’re going to see a very motivated Pickens going into the season. And I think that’s great news for us and maybe bad news for the rest of the league.”
Translation? Pickens looks hungry and ready to remind everyone why he’s one of Dak Prescott’s deadliest weapons. That’s got to be music to Cowboys fans’ ears.
