Dallas had a chance to take the lead just before halftime, but Prescott threw an interception while scrambling. The Giants capitalized immediately, as Dart connected with Isaiah Likely for a touchdown, giving New York a 14 to 7 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, the Giants extended their lead to 21 to 7 on another Dart to Likely score. The Cowboys responded with a 75 yard drive, capped by a Javonte Williams rushing touchdown. In the fourth quarter, the Giants put the game away as Dart found Devin Singletary for a nine yard touchdown.
Dallas tried to rally. Prescott hit Williams for a 17 yard score. However, Williams taunted the defense on his way to the end zone, drawing a 15 yard penalty. This pushed the extra point attempt back, and kicker Brandon Aubrey missed the kick, leaving Dallas down 28 to 20.
The Cowboys never got the ball back. The Giants ran out the final five minutes and 16 seconds to secure the win.
Jaxson Dart completed 79.3% of his passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 54 yards. Cam Skattebo added 81 rushing yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Likely had eight catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
For Dallas, Dak Prescott completed 64.7% of his passes for 175 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The Giants were simply more physical, outgaining the Cowboys in total yards, 394 to 244, and dominating the time of possession.
The John Harbaugh era in New York got off to a winning start, while the Cowboys left with a frustrating loss.
